Job description
Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a mid-senior level associate for its growing national energy law practice to work in its San Francisco office. The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience at a law firm, corporation, or government agency, with a focus on commercial matters, financing, and/or energy transactions. Candidates who have an energy regulatory or litigation background but an interest in re-focusing their practice in energy transactions are also encouraged to apply.

The associate will work on renewable energy and climate changed-related transactions for wide variety of clients, with an emphasis on the Western U.S. The associate would become involved with solar, wind and energy storage development, hydrogen and other green fuel projects, carbon capture and sequestration, and carbon offset transactions. The associate will interact directly with clients with the goal of taking on responsibility to manage day-to-day transactions and deal flow. The associate will also be given the training and resources to begin developing their own clients.

California bar membership is required. The candidate must also have a real and demonstrated passion for renewable energy, climate change, or energy regulatory issues. An understanding of the commercial, tax, finance, and project finance aspects of renewable energy development would be very beneficial.
