Job description

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has an exciting opportunity for an associate to join its Healthcare Practice Group. The Los Angeles office is seeking an associate with a minimum of five years experience in health law, including the following:

  • Experience preparing and negotiating services and other agreements in the healthcare setting, including, for example, professional and clinical services agreements, management services agreements, coverage agreements, medical directorship agreements, nondisclosure agreements and vendor-related agreements.
  • Understanding of healthcare fraud and abuse matters, and experience with friendly-PC and foundation models in California, the prohibition on the corporate practice of medicine (and other healings arts), and the relationships between providers and commercial payers.
  • Experience working with a broad range of healthcare clients, including hospitals, pharmacies, physician practices, telehealth companies, home health providers, laboratories and MSOs, as well some exposure to other clients that operate in the healthcare space (e.g., vendors that provide services and support to providers and payors, businesses providing unique solutions to industry problems).
  • Experience working on healthcare transactions, drafting transaction documents, and preparing, filing and maintaining basic corporate documents for healthcare providers.

Optimally, the attorney could handle smaller transactions and routine corporate work and drafting with minimal supervision. Strong analytical and writing skills are required. Candidates must have a JD and our preference is for candidates with active and good standing membership in the California State Bar.
